WHITEHOUSE HOTEL MANAGEMENT PROJECT |
The project consists of the Configuration, Front Office, Food and Beverage, House Keeping, Stores, Accounts, User Management, Utility modules. The project was primarily developed for White House Hotels of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It will be customized a little bit for sale as a product. Front office module primarily deals with room booking, check in check out, fax and telephone call listing, damage and fine details, booking cancellation, room category, room details, date wise booking details, booking register, bill payment register. Food and Beverage module deals with the menu order details and bill payment for non-guest and guests. Housekeeping module includes miscellaneous services order and payment for guests. Stores module consists of purchase order, issue requisition, item receipt, item issue, item return and item receipt rejection and other reports. Accounts module deals with payments and receipts, credit purchase entry, credit sales entry, journal entry and other reports. User Management module can be accessed by administrator only. The administrator can create users and give them access rights for the software using this module. The help of each module is also available in the software. In the configuration section user can configure company details application parameters, currency details, unit of measurement etc. |
Role |
The software was developed on J2EE architecture using BEA Weblogic application server and EJB for business logics based on Windows platform. I have developed the Food and beverage, Utility and Help modules. I have used Asps for interacting with the clients. On the server side I have used servlets for gathering information about the fooding menus and using EJB for generating the order. After giving service to the customer, EJB remote beans automatically updates the stores module as well as generates the bill which again is received by the servlet and forward the response to the JSP, where the client can printout the bill. Thus I have managed the whole process using EJB and servlets. |
Environment |
Windows 2000 server, BEA Weblogic Application server 6.1, Java, JDK 1.2, JSP, Servlets, EJB, ORACLE 8 |

PROJECT FOR VNU BUSINESS
PUBLICATIONS,UK |
Project deals with the development of a job
website http://www.newmonday.co.uk/
which takes care of the job seeker as well as the
job-recuiter. As a job seeker one can search for
the list of jobs suitable for him/her. As a
recruiter if the consultant has an account with
newmonday.co.uk site, according to the contract
and given privileges he/she can submit, delete,
hide or resubmit jobs. The project consists of
different modules-such as jobdataentry,
advertisingservices, jobfind, orderentry,
reportingservice etc. |
Role |
I have developed the connecting interface
between the jobdataentry and orderentry interface.
All the interfaces follow certain framework which
is similar to EJB framework. Connecting the Oracle
database by it's native JDBC driver I have
collected all the information about the contracts
which fall under a particular site of the company.
Then user can choose any contract and according to
the contract information I am allowing the
consultant to submit a new job / a bunch of jobs
by batch uploading or to resubmit the expired or
live or hidden jobs charging him/her extra credit
from the contract. To build the application I have
taken help of java Servlet,JSP and IBM WebSphere
Application server. Recently I am engaged in
development of password management system attached
to this site for internal and external users of
this site. |
Environment |
Java Servlet, JSP, JDK 1.2, IBM WebSphere

PROJECT FOR BOOTS
|
This was a demonstration project for BOOTS. There
were two interfaces-Front End Interface and Back
End Interface. The Front End Interfaces deals with
the Order Management System. It will generate
order for the customer who visits in the Boots
website and orders the items. The Backend
interface deals with the automatic order transfer
to the warehouse and the corresponding transfer of
information about the availability and supply
details to the Carrier Management
System. |
Role |
Was part of the front-end team. Developed
the logic as well as developed Java Servlets to
generate the product details page, shopping cart,
Invoice page, Credit Card validation page and
order confirmation page. Developed Java Servlets
for returning the items of a particular delivered
order to process for refund or replace. Also
developed the Servlets for Call Center to search
for a particular order to get the status of that
order and also to search for a particular product
to get the free stock information. Also developed
the Servlets for modifying the confirmed
order |

Smarty (Content Management
System) |
This project was developed for an internet
television company in Germany. The project deals
with the development of dynamic WebPages for http://www.tv1.de/
website. This project consists three parts: User
Interface, Admin Interface and Editor Interface.
|
Role |
Designed the system using Object Oriented
technology and designed it using Rational Rose.
Was responsible to develop the User Interface, a
Java Servlet programme that shows templates on the
browser by substituting tv1 defined tags from the
static webpages. The template data was stored in
Oracle database. Was also responsible for
developing the Editor Interface, a Java Applet
that connected with the Java servlet with HTTP
connection. Developed the servlet, which links the
Oracle database through JDBC Connection. Used
stored procedures (PL/SQL subprograms) which
access the data from Oracle database and linked
them with Java programs by Oracle JDBC native
driver. In Editor Interface developed and designed
Applets using Flow Layout and with the servlet
programmes used the Connection Pool which are the
configurable amount of connections which will be
available to the Client at any point of time.
Additionally developed web pages using Front Page
and Paint shop Pro |

Website |
The project deals with the development of
website http://www.city4u.com/ |
Role |
As a member of the Backend Team, developed
the Feedback Form which is a HTML form using
JavaScript for validation of the form field. User
filled up the feedback form and the feedback was
stored into the Oracle database against a
particular user name and number. The response to
the user was given using the server side Java
Programming (servlet programming). Wrote the code
for this feedback servlet using Java. Completed
the Search-Engine developed on Java Servlet for
this website by which any string input given by
the Client could be searched within the website.
Was also responsible to develop the mailing
facility into this website. Used the JAVA MAIL API
to send the text with attachment to a particular
email address. Additionally developed web pages
using Front Page and Paint shop Pro. Initially
used SQL Server as a database under Windows NT,
later on it was decided to move to MySQL under
Linux |

This system was also part of the large
intranet system for a US based
client. |
Role |
Designed the database. Developed the tables
and the table structures. Wrote stored procedures
would using PL/SQL. Before starting the actual
coding wrote Pseudo-codes. Developed the screens
using J-Builder2. The screens were consisted with
the reports for monthly salary of an employee,
Total Earnings and Deductions of an employee,
Deductions related to taxation, Employee Insurance
etc. Used AWT package as well as Swing Classes of
Sun Java to create and design the screens. As the
project was followed using three-tier
Architecture, wrote Java programs to connect the
frontend J-Builder2 screens with the backend
ORACLE database. For the development of JAVA
classes, used KAWA editor. |
